Recently promoted Associate QA Manager at PlayStation studios
Wigan & Leigh College Alumnus, David Charlton has had quite the career progression since completing his HND in Computing.
David is forging his way as a global pioneer in video gaming and entertainment. From Functional Tester to Test Lead, David was promoted again to Associate Quality Assurance Manager at PlayStation Studios QA.
He has worked on interactive entertainment such as Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and projects to support the launch of the PlayStation 5 console. David’s future career aspirations have a few potential paths, such as senior QA management and later directorship, or even software production.
“I think the HTQ is a great way into the industry because it provided me with that solid foundation to be able to get to grips with the technical understanding.
Employers are looking for people who can adapt and learn, so this qualification is a great way to start that journey and get those skills needed for the industry and for me it was also confidence building.”
