University of Salford Targets Careers of the Future

The University of Salford has achieved a significant milestone by securing kitemark accreditation for its forward-thinking Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs). This prestigious recognition underscores the university’s commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education that meets employer-led standards.

As part of this achievement, Salford is launching three innovative courses, all endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE). These programmes—Automation and Instrumentation, Business Analytics and Data Science (all offered as Diplomas of Higher Education)—are designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills tailored to the evolving demands of the workforce.

These HTQ courses will be delivered at the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT), located on the University of Salford’s Peel Park Campus. The GMIoT is renowned for providing training and employment opportunities that are co-created with leading employers, ensuring students are well-prepared for the careers of the future while addressing the needs of today’s job market.

While the GMIoT already offers a range of courses, construction is currently underway for a state-of-the-art flagship building on the university campus. This new facility will further enhance the institute’s capacity to deliver transformative education and training, solidifying its role as a hub for innovation and technical excellence in Greater Manchester.
