Mechanical Engineering (Full-Time): Wigan & Leigh College HND/HTQ/Lvl 5

Course Overview
- You’ll gain an understanding of advanced knowledge in complex mechanical systems, thermodynamics, engineering design. This will prepare you for senior technician or engineering roles. Whilst enabling further university study, and professional status. This course will provide you with industry-relevant skills, hands-on experience, and the confidence to tackle complex engineering challenges.
- You’ll study engineering management, further mathematics in engineering, computational modelling, thermodynamics and thermo fluids, lean manufacture, and advanced mechanical principles. This will build the expertise needed for higher-level engineering roles.
- You’ll study full time for one academic year with a mix of classroom, lab and project-based learning. There will be the option to complete a HND after year 1. A part-time route is also available.
- You’ll be assessed through coursework and project work designed to reflect real engineering problems. There are no formal exams. You will work on individual and team based tasks. These will test your understanding of the involved topics and develop your ability to solve problems.
