The aim of this Higher Technical Qualification is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who can meet the needs of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.
Course Overview
- This course is designed to develop professional and adaptable individuals to be able to meet the needs of employers in the construction sector. Through a range of industry-relevant units. The course prepares students for project and site management roles. Whilst supporting career progression and improving employment prospects within a constantly evolving industry.
- You’ll study the key technologies used in construction, from substructure to completion; helping students understand functional design considerations and select appropriate technical solutions. It explores the structure and impact of the construction industry on society and the environment, alongside legal, business, financial, and resource management aspects of construction organisations. You will also gain an introduction to Building Information Modelling and develop essential transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, research, critical analysis, which are valued in both higher education and the workplace.
- You’ll be able to study either two years part-time with one full day attendance per week, or one year full-time with two full day attendance per week.
- You’ll be assessed using a range of methods including written assignments, reports, presentations and undertake some practical activity.
