Digital Technologies HTQ / HNC

Delivered at Bury College, this course equips students with the computing skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the ever-evolving digital industries.

Why study Digital Technologies?

  • Three specialist pathways available, covering Cyber Security and Cloud Networking, Software Development and Programming, and Games and Animation, with the opportunity to gain additional professional qualifications including CISCO and UNITY.
  • Topics covered include programming, networking and security, database design, artificial intelligence, big data and game development, assessed through coursework, presentations and practical activities.
  • On completion, progress into roles including software developer, web developer, network engineer, cyber security engineer or games designer, or top up to a full BSc (Hons) degree at university.

What is an HNC?

  • A Higher National Certificate is a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification, equivalent to the first year of a degree, completed over one year of full-time study.
  • The course is validated by Pearson Education and all Higher Education courses at Bury College are fully accredited by an awarding body.
  • On completion, you can progress directly into employment or continue onto a full BSc (Hons) top-up degree, including a direct route to the BSc (Hons) Games Design and Production at the University of Salford.
